Rapper Lil Tjay has reportedly undergone emergency surgery after being shot in New Jersey.

TMZ has reported that the rapper was shot multiple times after midnight on Wednesday (June 22). 

The extent of his wounds and his condition were not yet known.

Two victims were shot at an Exxon gas station and one at Chipotle.

The victim was wounded by a single gunshot wound at the Exxon station and several were made to the victim at Chipotle.

Police responded to a call at 12:08am regarding a shooting that occurred at 14 The Promenade, Edgewater, New Jersey. 

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a 22-year-old victim with “multiple gunshot wounds”.

A rapper from the Bronx, Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, released his second album, Destined 2 Win, in April 2021.

Just before shooting, the "Goin' Up" and "Destined 2 Win" composer posted a "PSA" to his Instagram Stories.

Which said: "Just because you've been around a person doesn't make you entitled to its fruits.
